    VISUAL  ARTIST             Glenise Clelland
Glenise  is a long time Noosa resident working from her studio at Noosa North Shore.

Glenise Clelland was born in Brisbane and studied Fashion Design at the Brisbane College
of Art (now the Queensland University of Technology).  In the ‘70’s Glenise won the
Queensland Designer of the Year Award and designed bridal gowns for most of Queensland’s
brides of the day.  She also worked at Brisbane Arts Theatre as a theatre costume designer
which allowed her to express her love of colour, texture and design.  Glenise then traveled extensively, studied art overseas and lived and worked in Canada and the Pacific Islands.
After returning home with her husband and children in the 70’s, Glenise started exhibiting
her figurative paintings in Australia and overseas.

For Glenise, life drawing has always been central to her artistic development and has allowed
her to process what she sees and feels.  People still play an important part in all Glenise’s paintings and drawings from landscapes of Northern Australian to the Pacific Islands and
Europe.  Her expressive images show her passion for colour and form which are evident in all
her work today.

Glenise has had over 15 solo exhibitions at prestigious galleries in Australia and overseas.
Her work has been selected for Regional Gallery exhibitions plus Aboriginal University of Australia collaboration at the Brisbane Cultural Centre (now the mural at Noosa Hospital)
and Celebrate Queensland exhibition.  Glenise has had paintings selected four times for the prestigious Tattersall’s Landscape Prize.  Glenise had three paintings selected for exhibiting
at the Florence Biennale and Contemporanea Melbourne and Canberra.

Glenise has won awards including – 1st Ian Fairweather memorial Prize
                                                                        -  1st Sunshine Coast Drawing Prize
                                                                        -  Acquisitive – Moreton Shire Council
and highly commended in Gatton Regional gallery, Sunshine Coast Art awards, Cooktown,
and  Mcgreggor art show .

Shire Council, President of Nauru and Aboriginal University of Australia.

Two quality art/poetry books have recently been published -‘Love Falls in Love with Love’ and
‘Of Loving and Sensualities’- with 38 of her expressive life drawings and poems by Mocco Wollert.  These books are available from her website ,QAGOMA book shop ,galleries ,gift and book shops.  Prints from the books are available throughout Australia, Europe and America and from her website.
