Wallace House
7 Wallace Drive,
Noosaville 4566

B: 075474 1211

Noosa Arts and Crafts is a unique facility open to all members of the community to meet and share their artistic interests with like minded people.
Regular art and craft groups meet to increase and pursue their creative talents and socialise with friends and acquaintances, learning new skills and inspiration in their endeavours. The facility is open to everyone over the age of 18, regardless of their skill level and ability.
Beginners workshops are held frequently and more advanced workshops are also available.
Noosa Arts and Crafts Association has as its home Wallace House,a building steeped in history, in Wallace Park Noosaville.
The land was originally owned by Walter Hay, the "Father of the District" who subdivided it when his house burned down and Lot No 151 was purchased by Arthur Wallace in 1930.
Wallace House was built at a cost of 1,246 by Cooroy builder, Dick Caddell. In 1978 the house was sold and became a rental property with a variety of tenants including (according to rumour) a casino and a brothel.

The then Noosa Council bought the House in 1992 as a future home for arts and crafts of Noosa and Noosa Arts and Crafts
officially opened on the 8th June, 1993, with a membership of 150. The membership has grown since to almost 300.
When Wallace House was damaged by fire in 1999, the members continued to enjoy their activities in 'Little Wally', a small three bedroom house in Tewantin during the two years it took to restore the House to use.
Regular classes at Noosa Arts and crafts Association include painting in all its forms, pottery, book and
papermaking, botanical art quilting, porcelain art, mosiacs, printmaking, crochet, life drawing, smocking, beading, spinning and weaving, embroidery and much more.

For more information on the activities please phone 07 54741211, Monday to friday, from 8.30am to 12noon, or connect to the Facebook page at
