Lyn lives and works in Pomona and is currently turning her house, garden and studio into an arts retreat.  She holds twice weekly classes in her studio and has students aged fourteen to sixty plus.  Workshops are available on request.

Loving versatility, Lyn paints and teaches in oils, acrylics and goauche, is conversant with and teaches soft and oil pastels, ink with pen, nib and Chinese brush, water colour pencils, Inktense sticks and pencils and graphite pencils.  Lyn is also proficient in collage and will mix media and teach how to use whatever mediums necessary to achieve an effect.

Lyn's early professional training began in 1973 when Merv Moriarty brought Flying Arts to Central Queensland.  Flying Arts courses in the 1970's were based on solid and varied practical exercises, plus written studies and earned a strong association with various tertiary institutions.  Lyn also travelled widely from Blackall to Binna Burra and enjoyed the influence of a variety of artists - Bela Ivanyi, Irene Amos and Roy Churcher, to name a few.  She studied with Flying Arts until 1980, and by that time had exhibited in Brisbane, Rockhampton, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Dalby, Blackall, Biloela and Theodore.

In pursuit of more formal studies, Lyn moved to Brisbane where she was accepted into three Brisbane Art Colleges.  Her decision in 1981 to enrol at BCAE Kedron/Carseldine was based on the breadth of the course and the quality of teachers e.g. William Robinson, Merv Muhling, Jillian Brannock, Glen O'Malley, Julie Chenery.  Lyn majored in photography and contemporary dance, earning distinctions in all subjects with a high distinction in art history.  After college, Lyn continued painting and performing, making a living from free-lance photography, painting and consulting in the corporate sector in market strategies, promotions, corporate image, and advertising layout.

From the mid seventies, Lyn's interest in what is now known as Community Development, plus teaching art to children and adults, grew in tandem with her passion for the visual arts.  She was very active in community development in Theodore in the 1970's and in Brisbane from 1981 to 1990.  For many years, Lyn was tutor and consultant for Hands on Art in Brisbane.  She has continued these activities in the Sunshine Coast Region since 1993, and was well known at Noosa Regional Gallery Family Days for eight years, where she ran monthly painting workshops.  Lyn currently teaches painting, drawing and colour theory to adults and children and facilitates large workshops where her enthusiasm is infectious.

Over the years, Lyn has exhibited widely and won many prizes and commendations.  Lyn's work is represented in collections nationally and in New Zealand, Korea and Malta.
